About Us

For more than 30 years, we have chosen St. Barthelemy, French West Indies for our annual winter vacation. Like many others, we took the little plane to St. Barth and experienced the apprehensive thrill of landing in paradise.

After Norman left his private Pediatric practice and before joining a federally funded clinic where he still practices, he had some time on his hands. Susan, a busy consultant suggested that he begin thinking about what he really loved. Clearly he had always loved St. Barth.

Together we decided to think about how we could actually share our love for the island with a business there. We began to pursue a dream. We wanted to create a year round reminder of the special feeling that is St. Barth.

With the help of our daughter, Lisa a graphic designer who owns Masters Group Design in Philadelphia, we created our logo – L’avion. It is rather simple. It conveys plane clothing for plane people - beautiful, high quality and a true expression of what St. Barth represents. Today L’avion, clothing for the entire family is recognized throughout the world.
